Calling all elementary school singers!
The Jr. Vocal Ensembles are looking for students in Grades 4 to 8, who have a passion for singing and entertaining, to join their groups. Students will have an opportunity to learn popular, contemporary songs and make new connections with peers that share the same interest.
"The goal of this group is to cultivate a lifelong love for music, performance and to create confidence, personal conviction and fellowship for each member," says Arts Support Facilitator Mary Tabone.
"In the past, the Jr. Vocal Ensembles have had the opportunity to perform along-side their high school musical groups. This immediately builds a sense of importance and connectedness to the secondary students."
Past performances include: Boris Brott and the National Academy Orchestra, the Geritol Follies organization, a JR. Vocal Ensemble night, as well as numerous events for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.
Vocal practices will be held once each week at their respective high schools. Students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the rehearsals as well. Parents are invited to stay and view each rehearsal or come back and pick their child up when practice is over.
